Sampdoria vs Juventus |
Alessandro Del Piero all but clinched the golden boot award with two goals for Juventus in a six-goal thriller against Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Saturday. Juve raced into a two-goal lead with Del Piero and David Trezeguet, with a penalty, both moving to 20 goals for the season early on.

Cardiff vs Portsmouth |
Kanu's first-half goal won the FA Cup for Portsmouth against Cardiff City in a low-key final at Wembley. The Nigerian scrambled home the winner at the near post eight minutes before half-time after Cardiff keeper Peter Enckelman fumbled John Utaka's cross. Cardiff enjoyed possession but rarely posed a serious threat, although Glenn Loovens had a goal ruled out for handball in first-half injury time. And Portsmouth held on to claim the trophy for the first time since 1939. It was a personal triumph for emotional Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp as he claimed his first major trophy in a management and coaching career stretching back 25 years. He raced on to the pitch afterwards to celebrate as Portsmouth's win earned them a place in next season's Uefa Cup - their first European adventure. The final was given a magnificent backdrop by both clubs' noisy and colourful fans who clearly wanted to make the most of their moment in the limelight.

Motherwell vs Rangers |
Title-chasing Rangers suffered a setback as they were held to a 1-1 draw away to Motherwell. The away side failed to capitalise on their first of two games in-hand after Motherwell's Chris Porter equalised in the 50th minute to cancel out a Christian Dailly opener at Fir Park. Rangers now find themselves three points behind first-placed Celtic, but still with a game in-hand over their Old Firm rivals. And after their disappointing final failure in the Uefa Cup and missing out on the quadruple, the treble now looks in doubt. Walter Smith made five changes for Rangers with Mark McGhee making two from the win over Aberdeen which secured them a Uefa Cup spot. Smith's tactical changes made an immediate impact when the recalled Dailly opened the scoring after he connected with a hopeful ball from Kirk Broadfoot to head the ball over the advancing Graeme Smith in the 29th minute.

Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin |
Champions Bayern Munich brought their triumphant season to a close with a resounding 4-1 victory over Hertha Berlin. Luca Toni did the early damage as he broke the deadlock after just three minutes and then added a second on 28 minutes, before Franck Ribery got in on the act after 32 minutes. Toni completed his hat-trick after 61 minutes before Valeri Domovchiyski salvaged some pride for Hertha six minutes from time.

Marcelo Bordon was the star for Schalke as he netted a brace, opening the scoring after 19 minutes and then doubling his tally on 61 minutes.

Zenit St Petersburg vs Rangers |
Zenit playmaker Andrei Arshavin, the best player on the pitch, masterminded the downfall of Rangers in a tightly contested Uefa Cup final. The Glasgow side defended reolutely until the 73rd minute when Arshavin set up Denisov for the superb opener, and with the last kick of the game, Zyrianov wrapped it all up. Rangers' 19th European tie of the season proved a bridge too far as Zenit underlined the burgeoning health of Russian club football. An estimated 100,000 Rangers fans had invaded Manchester ahead of their team's first European final since 1972, though fewer than 14,000 of them were actually able to watch the game live in the City of Manchester Stadium. Many of the rest were outside the stadium or watching on huge screens around the city, or in bars, while another 25,000 followed the game at Ibrox via a beam-back.
